Students

Have you ever wondered why some students always seem to be able to get answers to challenging Mathematics Problems? Sometimes they aren't even the "smartest" kids in the class. Good Problem solvers have learnt a few "tricks of the trade" when it comes to solving unfamiliar and unrehearsed mathematics problems, but the most important quality that these students have is confidence.
How can you gain this confidence and learn some of these "tricks"? By solving Mathematics problems. A famous Mathematical problem solver, George Polya once said:

"Solving problems is a practical art, like swimming, or skiing, or playing the piano: you can learn it only by imitation and practice. . . . if you wish to learn swimming you have to go in the water, and if you wish to become a problem solver you have to solve problems."

I have designed MATHGYM so that students can gain this confidence anywhere in the world at any time - they don't have to be in a classroom, or even at school. If you want to know a bit more detail about how MATHGYM is organised - click on "MATHGYM" at left of screen.
